We Are Learning To identify and read contractions

"We are learning about contractions and apostrophes. Contractions are two words joined together with an apostrophe. It was tricky to read the words with an apostrophe and find the two words. It was easy to do some words like I'm because I could find the two words easy."

I Am Learning To use describing words

For Mother’s Day we made some special Mother’s Day writing using Word Art.

I will know I have been successful when:
I use some interesting words to describe my Mum

We Are Learning To read with fluency and expression

Every week we learn a new poem that we take home to share with our families. We worked with our group to pick our favourite and practised reading it.

"I am learning to read the poetry. I am so proud of learning it. It can be tricky to read the author."

Self-Portrait 2018

Look at our fabulous Self-Portraits!

We have been learning to sketch our faces using a sketch pencil.

We used our different types of lines (whispering lines, loop the loop lines and skinny lines). Then we went over it in pastels to make them stand out. Lastly, we added some funky glasses to our faces!

We Are Learning To write simple sentences.

In this piece of writing, we shared our favourite part about ourselves. We also thought about why it was our favourite part.

"I am learning to write my words down. I find sounding out my words easy. Making sure I have the right letter for new words is sometimes tricky."
